GeekBar - Meet the VC's

We all know that London is not Silicon Valley. The Valley thrives on an ecology bringing together geeks and experienced investors, we want help bridging this gap bringing VC's and entrepreneurial geek together at GeekBar.

The people behind the event are organizing MiniBar - a monthly meeting for London's tech community.

But GeekBar is different: we have invited representatives of Benckmark, 3i, DN Capital to name a few of the experienced tech investors attending.

At the same time we have invited some of the UK's hottest start ups. Some have received investment: Trusted Places, eCourier.co.uk for example. Others such as 'Rememble' (rememble.com) are about to launch.

At MiniBar we also had angel investors such as Esther Dyson (flickr, delicious) and Mark Shuttleworth. We have invited some of them and other 'angels'.

We will have some people from the London Development Agency who help very early start ups with 30k development grants.

For this event we are trying to get 100 people in one room who look for opportunities. We will give each VC the opportunity to present as we will three companies who are most promising. The event is supported by London Westside.
