“In a world faced by the challenges of a new and emerging economic realities dominated by climate change, ever-advancing technologies and shifting markets, London’s creative industry can support great talent and outstanding projects, and allow talented people to find opportunities to work and collaborate…”
Neil Johnston, Chief Executive, Paddington Development Trust
Paddington Development Trust (PDT) has focused on the development of Creative Industries in London for over a decade. One of the London-wide Creative Hubs set up by Ken Livingstone in 2003 it operates creative services from local neighbourhoods into mainstream business sectors.
The Paddington Development Trust (PDT) is a community-led organisation with social objectives. It is actively engaged in the economic, environmental and social regeneration of the north Paddington area.
PDT has four core values: sharing benefits within the community; creating opportunities for local people; financial self-sufficiency; equal opportunities for all communities.
It's mission is to enable local people to achieve social and economic independence.
Formed in 1998 by local residents, Paddington Development Trust has expanded rapidly primarily through assuming the accountable body role for the URBAN ESF/EDF Queens Park Partnership, and the same for a £13.5 million SRB 5 programme that commenced in 1999. The SRB award was made to implement the Community Plan New Life for Paddington (NLP) written by PDT and designed to address significant deprivation in four wards within north west Westminster (Queens Park, Harrow Road, Westbourne and Church Street). PDT has played a major part in the recent establishment of the Neighbourhood Forums for each of these wards.
